It’s Friday, and I got this idea of using “F” as a melody with the following quest from “Quest Logs Lv 4” :
  • Uni-pitch: Write a melody with only one pitch. You have complete liberty with the rhythm, but once you’ve picked your pitch that’s the only one you get for the melody. Be creative with the harmonies!
This is a very interesting challenge, something I’ve done in a composition class in my college.  Basically, the melody is going to be “F-f-f-f-f–f-f-f-f-f–” and that’s it.  In order for the music track to be interesting, you have to be creative with other music elements… Harmony and Rhythm.

Since I chose F as “the pitch”, I made the track’s key “F major (F Dur)”. For me, F Dur has this warm, soft, mellow and light atmosphere, and I decided to play with this soft and calm side of it.

I loaded one of my favorite virtual piano instruments “Kawai-EX Pro” (by the way, although I grew up with my Yamaha’s piano, I liked Kawai’s sharp and light sound as well!)

Basically I played a lot with chord progressions, not so much with the rhythm. There’re a lot of chords that sounds well with F, and I used a handful of them.

And it’s done, here’s my Day 6 track, “F-F-F-F-F!”

Happy Friday!
